Severe thunderstorms are once again tracking toward the Gold Coast after a hot and humid start to the day.
The Bureau of Meteorology issued a warning at 1.48pm for people in parts of the Gold Coast, Scenic Rim, Gympie, Logan, Somerset, South Burnett and the Sunshine Coast.
The severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding in the warning area over the next several hours, the Bureau said.
Weatherzone forecaster Graeme Brittain said today’s storm had a much higher chance of hitting the Gold Coast than yesterday when storms skirted the city.
