Spotlight on sprinters at Pune leg of Indian Athletics series

Pune, June 7 (IANS) Spotlight was on sprinters at the eighth-leg of Indian Athletics Series in Pune, Maharashtra on Sunday.

Air Force sprinter Harjit Singh was cynosure of all eyes as he clocked 10.17 seconds to top the field in the men’s 100m race. Rushiprasad Desai of Maharashtra was second with a time of 10.35 seconds and Laukik Anant Melge also from Maharashtra was third with a time of 10.36 seconds.

Aditya Pisal of Maharashtra dominated the U20 men’s 100m. His winning time was 10.23 seconds.

Results:

Men: 100m: Harjit Singh (Air Force) 10.17 seconds, Rushiprasad Desai (Maharashtra) 10.35 secs, Laukik Anant Melge (Maharashtra) 10.36 secs.

400m: Yashas P (Reliance) 46.82 seconds, Tushar Kanti Manna (Navy) 47.19 secs, Shubham D (Maharashtra) 47.74 secs.

1500m: Yoonus Shah (JSW) 3:50.21 secs, Sunil Dawar (Madhya Pradesh) 3:51.09 secs, Nirmit (Delhi) 3:51.30 secs,

10,000m: Harmonjot Singh (JSW) 29:43.89 seconds, Gaurav Mathur (Army) 29:44.73 secs, Deepak Bhatt (Uttarakhand) 29:49.95 secs.

110m hurdles: Siddhanth (ONGC) 14.18 seconds, Harmanjeet Singh (Delhi) 14.26 secs, Daksh Deepak (Maharashtra) 14.63 secs.

400m hurdles: Karthik Y (Andhra Pradesh) 51.63 seconds, Nikhil Bhardwaj (Navy) 52.51 secs, Vikash (Haryana) 54.69 secs.

High jump: Bharathi V (Navy) 2.05m, Samadhan D (All India Police) 2.00m, Aarbaj Yasin (Maharashtra) 2.00m.

Triple jump: Mohanraj J (Tamil Nadu) 16.17m, Bhushan Shinde (Maharashtra) 15.48m, Aushal Doni (Tamil Nadu) 15.29m.

Long jump: Anurag CV (Kerala) 7.52m, Bhupender Singh (Railway Sports) 7.37m, Krishna Sharma (Madhya Pradesh) 7.26m.

Shot put: Samardeep Singh Gill (Madhya Pradesh) 18.64m. Abhishek Singh (Uttar Pradesh) 16.96m, Rahul Krishna (Maharashtra) 16.57m.

Javelin throw: Manoj Kumar J (Tamil Nadu) 75.18m, Uttam Balasaheb (Maharashtra) 74.40m, Nitesh Yadav (Army) 69.55m.

Women

100m: Prakruthi Roopa (Karnataka) 11.65 secs, Nipam (Uttar Pradesh) 11.69 secs, Charu Shoukeen (Delhi) 12.06 secs

400m: Aishwarya Mishra (Maharashtra) 54.22 secs, Manisha A (Haryana) 54.66 secs, Geeta (Rajasthan) 54.72 secs.

800m: Lili Das (Uttarakhand) 2:09.43 secs, Komal Chandrakant (Railway Sports) 2:10.34 secs, Thota Sankeertana (IOCL) 2:10.58 secs.

10,000m: Ravina Gayakwad (Maharashtra) 36:34.55 seconds, Sanjivani Baburao Jadav (Maharashtra) 36:35.33 secs, Harmilan Bains (Chandigarh) 36:35.45 secs.

Discus throw: Aditi Rajesh (Maharashtra) 48.22m, Neha Verma (Maharashtra) 44.36m, Amera Anwar Shah (Madhya Pradesh) 43.97m.

Triple jump: I Ilango (Tamil Nadu) 13.57m, Niharika Vashisht (Punjab) 13.21m, Bhairabi Roy (Railways Sports) 13.19m.

Men: 400m: Manas Shinde (Maharashtra) 48.56 secs, Ranjeet S (Madhya Pradesh) 48.83 secs, Ali Sameer (Maharashtra) 49.52 secs.

Men: 1500m: Himanshu (Uttarakhand) 4:04.94 secs, Gopal (Madhya Pradesh) 4:05.33 secs, Sandeep (Maharashtra) 4:07.12 secs.

Men: 110m hurdles: Fasalul Haque (Reliance) 13.61 seconds (NR previous record 13.69 secs), Sandeep Vinodkumar (Reliance) 13.64 secs, Saif Farooq (Maharashtra) 13.70 secs.

Men Javelin throw: Aditya (Haryana) 72.34m, Dhairya (Gujarat) 65.32m, Korounganba (Manipur) 56.91m.

U20

Women: 100m: Nancy (Haryana) 11.78secs, Prisha Mishra (Haryana) 12.01 secs, Yashashree (Maharashtra) 12.24 secs.

Women: 100m hurdles: Adithya Aji (Reliance) 14.27 seconds, Daisy Maurya (Maharashtra) 15.71 secs, Diya Joshi (Maharashtra) 15.84 secs
