The Indian community in Sydney joined Consul General of India Dr S. Janakiraman in paying homage to Mahatma Gandhi on his birth anniversary at Jubilee Park in Parramatta on October 2.
Dr Janakiraman laid floral tributes at Gandhi’s statue during the Gandhi Jayanti observance, which was attended by elected councillors from Parramatta Council and members of the Indian community.
The Consulate General of India in Sydney said the gathering commemorated the Father of the Nation and marked the annual observance of Gandhi Jayanti.
