Telangana BJP leaders slam Revanth Reddy for mocking Nitin Nabin

Hyderabad, July 1 (IANS) Telangana BJP leaders on Wednesday slammed Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy for mocking BJP national president Nitin Nabin.

Reacting to the remarks made by the Chief Minister while addressing a meeting of farmers in Hyderabad on Tuesday evening to launch the ‘Rythu Bharosa’ scheme, the BJP leaders stated that the people of Telangana will throw out the ‘arrogant’ Congress government.

The Chief Minister had made the remarks referring to the statement made by Nitin Nabin during his three-day visit to Telangana.

“Recently, a guy came here, Nabin or whatever, I don’t really know his full name. He says the next government in Telangana will be theirs, just like they formed a government in West Bengal. It took you 15 years in West Bengal. Your tricks might have worked there because it was Mamata Banerjee. But here, all our guys are ready, and they will crush you,” he said, pointing towards the audience.

The BJP leaders from Telangana condemned the Chief Minister’s remarks and termed them ‘arrogant’.

Union Minister for Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy posted on X that respect and etiquette are foreign concepts to Congress.

“Arrogance precedes the fall, Revanth Reddy Garu. Demeaning BJP National President Shri Nitin Nabin ji won’t hide the fear gripping the Congress camp. The people of Telangana have always respected humility over arrogance. This is the very arrogance that brought down the farm house CM and will now lead to the downfall of the current Telangana Chief Minister,” said Kishan Reddy.

“In the last 12.5 years in Telangana, between the BRS and Congress, nothing has changed – failed governance, broken promises, massive corruption, MIM appeasement and promoting family rule – both parties showcase the same level of arrogance. The Corrupt Communal Congress in Telangana has nothing concrete to show on the development front – and is echoing Rahul Gandhi’s politics of personal attacks and abuse to cover up its failures. Telangana’s booth karyakartas are not threats to be ‘crushed’; they are the voice of the people,” he added.

Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, also condemned CM Revanth Reddy’s remarks, mocking Nitin Nabin.

“You may pretend not to remember his name, but people have often forgotten yours without pretending. Leaders drunk on power often mistake arrogance for strength and mockery for political brilliance. If you believe the BJP’s rise in Telangana will take as long as it did in West Bengal, think again. Looking at the way your Congress government is functioning, it may not take that long. You can keep underestimating the BJP. We have defeated governments far bigger and leaders far more powerful than you. Game on,” posted Bandi Sanjay.

State BJP president N. Ramchander Rao alleged that arrogance is deeply embedded in the DNA of the Congress party and its leaders. “This is precisely why Congress has never won as an incumbent government since 2011. Despite being repeatedly rejected by the Indian voter, Congress and its leaders refuse to let go of their arrogance. The people of Telangana will never accept such language. Just as the people threw out the arrogant farmhouse dynasty, the same fate awaits CM Revanth Reddy and the Congress government,” he said.
