New Delhi, July 3 (IANS) The Election Commission’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) Phase III of electoral rolls in Delhi is progressing steadily, with over 22 per cent of enumeration forms already distributed in the initial days of the drive.

The exercise, aimed at ensuring that no eligible citizen is left out while no ineligible person is included in the electoral roll, began on June 30, 2026, and will continue till July 29, 2026.

According to the latest cumulative status report released by the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Delhi, as of Thursday, a total of 33,14,116 enumeration forms have been distributed across all 13 districts, covering 22.84 per cent of the total 1,45,10,298 electors in the national capital.

Out of these, 1,02,308 forms have been digitised, accounting for 0.71 per cent of the total electorate.

While distribution has shown encouraging early momentum, the digitisation process is still in its initial stages, indicating that field teams are actively collecting and verifying details on the ground.

The New Delhi district has recorded the highest distribution percentage at 31.41 per cent, followed closely by the North district at 31.36 per cent. The North West district has also performed well, with 29.84 per cent of forms distributed.

On the other hand, the East district reported the lowest distribution at 18.37 per cent, while South East stood at 19.01 per cent. Other districts such as South West (21.71 per cent), Central North (22.70 per cent), and Outer North (23.56 per cent) are maintaining a moderate pace.

The report shows that field officers are working to reach every household to update voter information, remove the names of deceased or shifted voters, and include eligible new electors.

The Special Intensive Revision is considered crucial ahead of future elections as it aims to strengthen and update the electoral rolls with accuracy and transparency.

Officials have appealed to all citizens to cooperate with the enumeration teams, provide correct details, and ensure that their names are properly enrolled or updated.

With nearly a month still left in the enumeration phase, authorities are hopeful that the distribution and digitisation figures will rise significantly in the coming weeks.

The drive reflects the Election Commission’s commitment to building a robust and error-free electoral roll for Delhi.

The proactive revision process is expected to enhance public confidence in the electoral system by ensuring that every genuine voter is counted and that the rolls remain clean and credible.
