Bhopal, May 20 (IANS) The family of Twisha Sharma met the Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Wednesday and demanded a thorough investigation into her alleged suicide case.

During the meeting at the State Secretariat in Bhopal, the family sought a fair probe and raised concerns over the circumstances surrounding the 24-year-old woman’s death at her matrimonial home earlier this month.

Chief Minister Yadav assured the family that the state government would extend full support in the matter.

He also said that the Madhya Pradesh government would write to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), urging an investigation into the case.

The Chief Minister assured the family that transportation facilities would be arranged to shift Twisha Sharma’s mortal remains to Delhi.

Twisha’s parents reside in Greater Noida’s Gaur City-2 township.

However, the decision regarding a second post-mortem examination will be taken by the court.

Twisha Sharma was found dead at her matrimonial home in Bhopal on the night of May 12.

According to the police, she was allegedly found hanging from a gymnastic ring rope on the terrace of the house at around 10:26 p.m. on May 12.

Her post-mortem examination was conducted on May 13 at the Department of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology at AIIMS Bhopal.

The autopsy report concluded that the cause of death was “antemortem hanging by ligature”.

Doctors noted a double reddish patterned ligature mark running obliquely around the upper third of the neck, consistent with hanging.

The report also recorded several simple blunt-force injuries on different parts of the body.

These included abrasions on the left side of the neck, bruises on the left upper arm, left forearm, right wrist and right ring finger, along with a bruise beneath the scalp in the left frontoparietal region.

Doctors also observed signs associated with asphyxia, including facial congestion, bluish discolouration of the ears and fingernails, and petechial haemorrhages in the right eye.

During the internal examination, two small bruised patches were found beneath the ligature mark.

The lungs reportedly showed “Tardieu’s spots”, commonly associated with asphyxiation, while congestion was also noted in the brain, lungs and stomach lining, according to the police.
