Raisen, April 13 (IANS) Senior BJP leader and Union Minister, Nitin Gadkari, will participate in the concluding session of the three-day agriculture-focussed ‘Unnat Krishi Mahotsav 2026’ in Madhya Pradesh’s Raisen district on Monday.

“The three-day ‘Advanced Agriculture Festival 2026’ organised in Raisen is concluding today. This festival has shown the direction of a new era in agriculture through modern farming, new technologies, and innovations,” Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who is hosting the event, wrote on X.

He further wrote, “Today, Union Minister Gadkari will make this event even more special and provide new energy and inspiration to the farmers. I urge all of you to certainly attend on the final day of the fair today and learn new dimensions to make your farming more advanced, modern, and profitable.”

The event was inaugurated on April 11 in the presence of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, in the presence of Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav.

Over the past three days, the event has served as a key platform to connect farmers with advanced farming techniques, scientific practices, and market opportunities. Farmers from across the region participated in exhibitions, training programmes, and live demonstrations aimed at improving productivity and income.

A major highlight of the event has been the initiative led by Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who unveiled a special ‘Agricultural Road map’ for four districts of Madhya Pradesh — Raisen, Vidisha, Sehore, and Dewas. The road map has been prepared by scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR).

Chouhan said the road map will guide farmers to adopt scientific methods for crop selection based on soil quality, climate, and water availability. He stressed that moving away from traditional practices towards data-driven farming will help reduce costs and increase yields.

“The objective is to make agriculture more profitable and sustainable,” he said, encouraging farmers to adopt crop diversification and integrated farming. He also urged them to explore allied sectors such as animal husbandry, horticulture, and beekeeping for additional income.

The road map further focusses on water conservation and improving soil health, addressing concerns over falling groundwater levels and land degradation. Officials indicated that the model could be expanded across the state after its initial implementation.

During the event, a mobile application named ‘Soil’ was also launched to assist farmers in determining precise fertiliser and manure requirements based on soil conditions, making farming more efficient.

With Gadkari set to attend the closing session and Rajnath Singh having inaugurated the event, it has drawn significant attention at the national level.

Farmers have been urged to attend the final day and benefit from the knowledge and innovations showcased at the fair.
