A MAN is lucky to have survived after his runaway truck struck him at Upper Coomera this morning.
The man is believed to have parked his truck on a steep incline at the Upper Coomera Village centre before it started to roll down the hill.
TLC Massage and Beauty employee Craig Soll said his shop could see directly across to where the truck had been parked.
“The fella ran after the truck and it either hit him or he got run over by the truck,” he said.
“We all came out and the doctor next door was on the scene immediately.”
He said it was an “absolute miracle” the runaway truck, which was stopped by Reserve Road and Tamborine Oxenford Dr traffic lights, didn’t injure anyone else.
“This intersection is usually filled with people and cars,” he said.
The man was transported to Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious condition with chest and leg injuries.
