New Delhi, June 5 (IANS) Punjab Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Kewal Singh Dhillon on Friday called on party President Nitin Nabin here and expressed gratitude for entrusting him the leadership role in the state and assured to work in coordination with party leaders.

Dhillon was accompanied by State BJP National Secretary Narinder Singh Raina and State BJP General Secretary Manthri Srinivasulu.

The State BJP Chief expressed his gratitude to the BJP President Nabin for entrusting him with the leadership of the party’s Punjab unit and assured him that he would take along every section of the party and work in close coordination with state leaders, office-bearers and workers.

He expressed confidence that under the guidance of the national leadership and with the collective efforts of the party cadre, the BJP would emerge as a strong political force in the state and form its government after the Assembly elections scheduled in February 2027.

The meeting involved detailed deliberations on welfare of Punjabi farmers, creating employment opportunities for the youth and making a strategy to establish a BJP government in the state in the next year’s Assembly election.

Dhillon said that the State BJP unit is fully committed to making Punjab the best state in the country and will work day and night to serve the people.

He assured BJP President Nabin that intensive efforts would be made in the coming days to strengthen the party’s organisation right down to the booth level across the state.

A special highlight of the meeting was when Dhillon presented Nabin with a portrait of ‘Sher-e-Punjab’ Maharaja Ranjit Singh, sharing insights into the glorious achievements and history of his ‘Sarkar-e-Khalsa’ rule.

Dhillon emphasised that drawing inspiration from Maharaja Ranjit Singh’s ‘just’ and ‘pro-people governance’, they discussed the framework for a future BJP government in Punjab.

The BJP leadership expressed absolute confidence that the party will move forward by taking every section of society along to ensure a golden and progressive future for the state.
