Hyderabad, May 8 (IANS) Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy said on Friday that he has been working for at least 18 hours every day for the development of the state.

Addressing a public meeting after laying foundation stones for Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple and other development works in his Assembly constituency Kodangal, the Chief Minister added that Telangana was witnessing fast track development.

He said that the state government with the support of all was trying to place Telangana in top position in development.

He listed out the steps being taken to develop Kodangal as the hub of educational institutions and industries.

Medical and engineering colleges, an Advanced Technology Centre, a nursing college, a polytechnic, and a Sainik school are being established in Kodangal.

The development of this educational hub will be completed within a year-and-a-half.

Steps are being taken to ensure that students from across the state come to Kodangal for higher education.

Revanth Reddy declared that Kodangal will be transformed into a role model for the entire country.

We are establishing an industrial park spanning 2,300 acres at Lagacherla and constructing a major roadway connecting the Hyderabad airport directly to Kodangal, the Chief Minister said.

He added that 90 per cent of the Vikarabad railway line was already completed and the construction of a cement industry will commence within the next six months to provide local employment and livelihood opportunities.

He also claimed that India’s leading industries are setting up their units in Kodangal.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy directed the officials to complete all development works in Kodangal by December 2027 and appealed to all local body representatives to strive for development of their villages by setting aside political differences.

On the irrigation front, the Chief Minister instructed the officials to complete the Narayanpet-Kodangal Lift Irrigation Scheme within a year-and-a-half to bring the waters of the Krishna river to the region.

He assured that funds will be sanctioned and all hurdles will be removed in the completion of the lift project.

The Chief Minister explained the geographical challenges for Kodangal development.

Kodangal is situated in one of the highest-altitude regions of the state.

Consequently, there was virtually no possibility of accessing water resources.

Conditions were such that cultivating paddy was impossible and nothing would grow here except for red gram.
