Sunshine is heading back to the Coast, with the Bureau of Meteorology predicting clear skies by Thursday along with cooler, more stable conditions as a southerly change pushes through.
Forecaster Lachlan Stoney said the change would lower the dew point, easing muggy conditions as a dryer, cooler air mass pushes up from the south.
Mr Stoney said the settling conditions meant an end to thunder storm activity which had threatened for the past week and a half.
However a strong wind warning remains in place today for Sunshine Coast coastal waters.
The BOM says southerly winds from 20-25 knots would reach 25-30 knots offshore south of Maroochydore during the this morning shifting south easterly.
Seas from 1.5 to 2.5 metres and southerly swell at 1-1.5m was expected to increase to 1-2 metres.
Over land southerly winds from 15-25 km/h would shift south east at 20-30 km/h on a day where the temperature maximum would reach 27 degrees.
Wednesday’s conditions would be similar with a maximum temperature of 28 degrees and south, south-easterly winds at 15-20 km/h then becoming south easterly at 15-20 km/h.
Thursday will be a hotter 30 degrees on a sunny day with light winds early becoming easterly at 15-20 km/h before easing in the evening.
Partly cloudy conditions would contribute to a one degree temperature drop to 29 degrees on Friday with south easterly winds at 15-25 km/h becoming light in the late afternoon and evening.
Expect next weekend to be partly cloudy with the temperature reaching 30 degrees on Sunday.
There’s only the slight chance of rain with winds light early on Saturday and then increasing to 15-20 km/h from the east.
Winds would only be light early on Sunday before increasing from the north east at 15-20km/h.
