LalithaKalalaya’s organized its 9th annual concert, Skanda Vaibhavam, in Brisbane, recently. The concert explored the Avatara and Lilas of Lord Muruga / Karthikeya (second son of lord shiva), his astonishing birth, youthful days, victory over the demon king – Surapadma and divine union with Deivayanai and Valli. Padmalakshmi Sriram and Lalitha Kalalaya’s holistic approach to Bharatanatyam education emphasizes not only technical mastery but also a deep understanding of its cultural and spiritual significance.
