AIBC Queensland hosts networking evening to boost business ties

The Australia India Business Council (AIBC) Queensland Chapter recently organised a Networking Evening and Member Updates session at Stamford Plaza Brisbane, bringing together professionals from government, corporate, entrepreneurial, education, sporting, and professional services sectors.

AIBC Queensland president Namrata Datt welcomed the participants, highlighting the presence of a record number of new members, which she noted as a positive sign of the growing interest in fostering Australia–India business connections. She also shared the chapter’s strategic priorities and provided insights into upcoming initiatives focused on promoting bilateral engagement.

The evening also served as an occasion to bid farewell to Melissa O’Rourke, Deputy Director at the Queensland State Office of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), who is set to take up a new role in Canberra. AIBC acknowledged her consistent support for the Australia–India business relationship.

One of the notable features of the evening was the ‘Speed Networking’ session, facilitated by AIBC committee member Stephen Berkeley. The segment encouraged active participation and created an engaging environment for attendees to establish new connections and discuss collaborative opportunities.

AIBC Queensland thanked all those who joined the event and contributed to strengthening the Australia–India business corridor through meaningful dialogue and networking.
