Bhartiya Samaj has announced that its flagship multicultural event, Empowering People, Strengthening Queensland 2026, will be held at Brisbane City Hall and King George Square on August 2.
The free public event will run from 10 am to 4 pm and is expected to bring together communities from across Queensland through cultural performances, community engagement and information-sharing activities.
Organisers said the programme will feature a multicultural awards ceremony, live cultural performances, workshops and information sessions, children’s activities, multinational food stalls, and government and community information booths.
The event aims to promote social inclusion, strengthen community connections and celebrate Queensland’s cultural diversity while providing visitors with opportunities to engage with government agencies, community organisations and service providers.
A number of organisations are supporting the event, including the Queensland Government, the Consulate General of India in Brisbane, Queensland African Communities Council (QACC), Settlement Services International (SSI), Ethnic Communities Council of Queensland (ECCQ) and Multicultural Australia. Australia India News is among the media partners.
Organisers have invited families and members of the wider community to attend the free event, describing it as a platform to celebrate multiculturalism, encourage community participation and strengthen social cohesion across Queensland.
