The Ethnic Communities Council of Queensland (ECCQ) has conducted a health education session for members of the Vietnamese Mutual Assistance Association Queensland in Forest Lake, focusing on chronic disease prevention and healthy living.
Organised by ECCQ’s Chronic Disease Team, the programme provided practical information on preventing chronic illnesses, improving sleep and maintaining overall wellbeing.
Participants also took part in a gentle chair yoga session designed to help improve mobility, relaxation and everyday health management.
ECCQ said the session encouraged practical learning and equipped participants with skills to better manage their health. Many attendees expressed interest in attending more culturally appropriate, community-based health programmes.
The organisation said the initiative forms part of its ongoing commitment to ensuring people from multicultural communities have access to reliable health information in a culturally inclusive environment.
ECCQ also encouraged community members seeking health support in their preferred language to access its multilingual health services.
