The Ethnic Communities Council of Queensland (ECCQ) has opened expressions of interest for its Building Australian Skills for Employment (BASE) traineeship, aimed at helping professionally qualified migrants and graduates gain workplace experience in Australia.
The programme combines practical workplace training with a Certificate I in Workplace Skills and includes 19 weeks of paid work placement with Queensland businesses.
ECCQ said the initiative is designed to support participants in developing practical skills and improving their pathways to meaningful employment in Australia.
The traineeship is open to eligible visa holders, permanent residents and New Zealand citizens.
The next intake is scheduled to begin on September 14, 2026.
ECCQ said the programme forms part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen employment opportunities and workplace inclusion for people from multicultural backgrounds across Queensland.
