Brisbane will host the Federation of Indian Communities of Queensland’s (FICQ) annual Diwali Celebration – Festival of Lights on November 6, with a full day of cultural activities planned at King George Square in the central business district.
Scheduled from 11 am to 10 pm, the celebration will feature cultural performances, music, dance, food, entertainment and community showcases.
FICQ said the event would bring people together to celebrate Diwali’s message of light overcoming darkness, hope prevailing over despair and good triumphing over evil. The programme will also showcase Indian culture, community unity and Queensland’s multicultural character.
