Greater Noida, October 31(Australia India News Newsdesk)
India’s growing renewable energy industry received an international platform at the Renewable Energy India Expo (REI Expo) 2026, which concluded on October 24 after attracting 65,133 visitors and bringing together 1,251 participating brands at the India Expo Centre and Mart in Greater Noida.
Held from October 22 to 24, the three-day exhibition brought together manufacturers, technology companies, investors, industry representatives and other stakeholders to examine developments across the clean energy sector.
According to the organisers, the event also recorded the participation of 1,755 VIPs and delegates, while 351 speakers contributed to discussions and knowledge-sharing sessions. Professionals from more than 55 countries attended the exhibition, reflecting the international interest in India’s renewable energy market.
The exhibition covered a wide range of technologies, including solar and wind power, bioenergy, green hydrogen, battery systems, energy storage and electric mobility. Spread across 14 exhibition halls, it offered participating companies an opportunity to demonstrate their products, technological capabilities and solutions for the changing energy market.
Energy storage and battery technologies were among the important areas represented at the event. As renewable sources such as solar and wind depend on weather conditions and the availability of natural resources, effective storage systems are increasingly important for maintaining a reliable electricity supply. Developments in this field are also relevant to India’s efforts to expand the share of renewable energy in its overall power generation.
The event marked 20 years of REI Expo’s engagement with the renewable energy industry. During this period, the exhibition has provided a common platform for businesses, technology developers and international participants to establish contacts and explore commercial opportunities.
The 2026 gathering also reflected the expanding scope of the renewable energy sector, where progress increasingly depends on the integration of power generation, storage, grid infrastructure and emerging technologies.
The previous 2025 edition had attracted more than 55,000 industry professionals and over 1,000 brands. It featured 14 exhibition halls, with significant representation from solar energy, bioenergy and battery storage companies. That edition also introduced a dedicated Energy Storage Conference, drawing attention to the growing importance of storage infrastructure in the renewable energy ecosystem.
The latest edition’s participation figures indicate an expansion in attendance and exhibitor numbers compared with the previous year.
As India works towards strengthening its clean energy capacity, platforms such as REI Expo provide opportunities for domestic businesses to engage with international technology providers, identify investment prospects and explore partnerships.
