Canberra, May 18 (Australia India News Newsdesk)

Senior officials from the Royal Australian Air Force and the Indian Air Force held discussions in Canberra and Brisbane aimed at strengthening defence cooperation and enhancing professional air power engagement between the two countries.

Royal Australian Air Force Deputy Chief Air Vice-Marshal Steven Pesce hosted Indian Air Force Air Vice-Marshal Sanjeev Taliyan during the visit, which focused on expanding operational dialogue and interoperability between the two air forces.

The engagements covered a range of areas including air logistics support, airborne and special operations, VIP transport, air-to-air refuelling, search and rescue support, and aeromedical evacuation capabilities.

Personnel from HALSPO, 86 Wing, 33 Squadron and 36 Squadron participated in the discussions and operational exchanges.

According to the Royal Australian Air Force, the visit reflected ongoing efforts to build stronger professional relationships, increase defence cooperation and support regional security objectives in the Indo-Pacific.

Officials said the engagement highlighted the growing strategic partnership between Australia and India and their shared commitment to regional stability and defence collaboration.
