The Australia–Taiwan Relations Forum 2026, organised by the Australia–Taiwan Cooperation Forum (ATCF), brought together policymakers, experts and community leaders at Queensland Parliament House to deliberate on regional security and cooperation.
Held under the theme “Shared Responsibility: Security, Resilience, and Regional Stability — Perspectives from Australia and Taiwan,” the forum focused on strengthening partnerships in an increasingly complex global environment. Participants exchanged insights on addressing emerging security challenges, enhancing resilience, and promoting stability across the Indo-Pacific region.
The discussions ranged from keynote addresses highlighting the risks of strategic complacency to interactive panel sessions and a Q&A segment that encouraged dialogue on practical pathways for collaboration. Speakers emphasised the importance of mutual understanding, coordinated policy responses, and forward-looking partnerships between Australia and Taiwan.
The forum underscored the growing relevance of Australia–Taiwan engagement in areas such as regional security, economic resilience, and democratic cooperation. Attendees noted that such platforms play a critical role in fostering dialogue and building trust among stakeholders committed to peace and shared prosperity.
The event also provided an opportunity for participants to connect with leaders and experts working towards strengthening regional ties. Observers said the discussions reflected a broader commitment to sustaining long-term cooperation and addressing common challenges in the Indo-Pacific.
The ATCF forum is part of ongoing efforts to deepen engagement between Australia and Taiwan through dialogue-driven initiatives focused on security, resilience, and partnership-building.
