The Sunshine State could be in for a rainy Christmas Day, with forecasters predicting possible thunderstorms across the southeast just after lunch.
Brisbane is expected to reach a top of 30C, with a high chance of showers and possible thunderstorm in the afternoon on Saturday.
Christmas Eve in the city will be a mostly sunny affair, but on Christmas Day the bureau has predicted a top of 33C and medium chance of showers and thunderstorm in the late afternoon and evening.
Conditions on the Gold Coast will be similar, with a top of 29C and chance of showers today before a sunny day on Christmas Eve. Christmas Day is also looking grim, with a chance of thunderstorms later in the afternoon.
The Sunshine Coast is set to avoid most of the wet weather, with a chance of showers on Saturday followed by two sunny days with a top of 31C on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
