Dehradun, April 28 (IANS) Emphasising inclusive development in the education sector, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Tuesday said that children studying in madrasas in the state are being provided modern and quality education, with a focus on science, technology, innovation and artificial intelligence.

Addressing a special session of the state Assembly, the Chief Minister said that the government is committed to ensuring that education becomes a unifying force rather than a source of division. He stressed that society should not be divided on the basis of education, adding that the state government does not intend to create any distinction in the name of learning.

Dhami said that efforts have been made through the Madrasa Board to ensure that every child gets the right to education. ”In matters of education, there is neither minority nor majority. Our focus is on providing equal opportunities and ensuring that every child benefits from modern education,” he said.

Highlighting the government’s guiding principle, the Chief Minister said that Uttarakhand is progressing with the vision of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas”, ensuring that development reaches all sections of society. He added that people in the state live together with mutual love and harmony, and the government is working to further strengthen this social fabric.

The Chief Minister also underlined the importance of balancing tradition with modernity. “While moving forward, we are learning from our heritage and history. At the same time, if there have been shortcomings in the past, they must also be acknowledged,” he said.

Referring to welfare measures for grassroots workers, Dhami said that the honorarium of Anganwadi workers has been increased under his government. He noted that Anganwadi workers play a crucial role in strengthening the nutrition and early childhood care system and assured that their expectations would continue to be addressed in the future as well.

Reiterating his government’s commitment to inclusive governance, Dhami said that policies are being framed to ensure equal access to opportunities in education and welfare, with a strong emphasis on social harmony and holistic development across the state.
