Mira Road stabbing: Maha Minister Rane seeks new ‘Op Sindoor’ to eliminate ‘jihadis’

Mumbai, April 28 (IANS) Maharashtra Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Nitesh Rane on Tuesday said that another Operation Sindoor is required in order to eliminate ‘jihadis’ from the Naya Nagar area of Mumbai’s suburban Mira Road city.

Rane’s response came after an accused, identified as Zaib Zuber Ansari, stabbed two security guards who were stationed at an under-construction building in Mira Road’s Naya Nagar area. He is said to have asked them to recite the Kalma, a key Islamic declaration of faith, before launching the attack.

“I have always said that Jihadis want to make the Naya Nagar area in Mira Road a mini-Pakistan,” Rane told IANS.

He noted that the Pahalgam attack victims were also asked to recite the ‘Kalma’ by the terrorists.

“Just like Operation Sindoor was done after the attack, the time has come to undertake another Operation Sindoor in Naya Nagar area,’ he said.

“If anyone residing in our ‘Hindu Rashtra’, attempts to make a separate Sharia law in order to turn the country into an Islamic state, any jihadi who might be trying this, there is no other option than to do operation Sindoor to eliminate them.”

Rane urged that an Op Sindoor is required, whether the jihadis are of Pakistan or of Naya Nagar.

“This Naya Nagar belongs to ‘Bhagwadharis’ (Hindus). The place is in ‘Hindu Rashtra’, nobody should attempt to dilute its character,” he warned.

Moreover, Rane alleged that it is the “Jihadi mindset” to turn the country into an Islamic state by 2047.

“That is why they are starting from places like Naya Nagar and then trying to spread to other parts of the country,” he said.

“I can assure that this Jihadi mindset will be eliminated from Naya Nagar itself,” he asserted.

Maharashtra’s Minister of State for Home, Yogesh Kadam, said that the case is currently under investigation and action will be taken in due course.
