Lucknow, April 1 (IANS) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday reviewed the situation arising from unseasonal rainfall across several districts of the state and enquired about the condition of farmers affected by the adverse weather.

He directed District Magistrates to submit detailed reports outlining the challenges being faced by farmers due to the untimely rainfall.

Stressing the need for vigilance, the Chief Minister instructed officials to remain on high alert and ensure that farmers impacted by the weather do not face any hardship, reiterating that the “welfare of farmers remains a top priority for the government”.

The Chief Minister also asked officials to carry out a prompt assessment of crop damage, compile comprehensive data, and ensure that relief reaches affected farmers at the earliest.

He further directed the Revenue Department, Agriculture Department, and insurance companies to jointly conduct an immediate survey of the losses and submit their findings to the government so that compensation can be processed without delay.

He said that the administration “stands steadfastly with the people of the state during every calamity and crisis”.

CM Yogi noted that rainfall over the past few days had already caused damage to crops and that compensation for earlier losses is currently being distributed.

The Chief Minister directed all District Magistrates to remain actively engaged on the ground, assess the situation realistically, and ensure that the extent of crop damage in affected regions is evaluated accurately so that appropriate assistance can be extended promptly.

Additionally, he asked the Principal Secretary (Agriculture) and the Relief Commissioner to maintain direct coordination with field-level officials and ensure seamless communication.

He emphasised that all relevant information must be gathered and submitted to the government within the stipulated timeframe to facilitate the timely execution of relief measures.

CM Yogi further stated that the disbursement of compensation should begin immediately after receiving the damage assessment reports.
