High Commissioner of India to Australia Nagesh Singh met Prof. Jiantao Xi, Interim Pro Vice-Chancellor, Global Engagement, and his team at the University of Wollongong to discuss opportunities for deeper cooperation between India and Australia in higher education, research and innovation.
The discussions included the university’s plans and engagement relating to its campus in GIFT City, India. The meeting also explored opportunities to expand collaboration in areas of higher education, research and innovation.
The engagement reflects the growing importance of educational and research partnerships in the broader Australia-India relationship. Greater cooperation between universities and research institutions can create opportunities for academic exchange, joint research and innovation, while strengthening institutional links between the two countries.
