Plans for a proposed House of India in Ipswich are progressing, with the Federation of Indian Communities of Queensland (FICQ) discussing the project with Ipswich Mayor Teresa Harding.
The meeting provided an opportunity for FICQ to share an update on the project’s progress and its vision for creating a dedicated platform for community engagement and cultural activities.
Mayor Harding highlighted the community and business opportunities available in Ipswich and encouraged FICQ to consider organising more events in the region. The discussions also explored potential collaboration with existing Ipswich programs and initiatives.
FICQ said the meeting was an important step towards strengthening its engagement with the Ipswich community and developing opportunities for collaboration.
The organisation also acknowledged Mayor Harding’s support for multicultural communities and said it looked forward to building a stronger partnership with the council and creating more opportunities for communities in Ipswich.
