High Commissioner of India to Australia Nagesh Singh met RMIT University Vice-Chancellor and President Professor Alec Cameron in Melbourne to explore new opportunities for strengthening higher education and research cooperation between India and Australia.
The discussions focused on expanding collaboration in higher education, research, innovation, skills development and student mobility, reflecting the growing educational partnership between the two countries.
Singh and Professor Cameron also exchanged views on promoting joint research projects, increasing academic exchanges and developing stronger institutional linkages to support innovation, workforce readiness and knowledge sharing.
The meeting highlighted the importance of universities in advancing the Australia-India Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and fostering closer people-to-people connections through education.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepening collaboration between Indian institutions and RMIT University, recognising higher education as a key driver of bilateral cooperation and future-focused partnerships.
