Canberra, February 11(Australia India News Newsdesk)

The Indian Mission, in partnership with the Federation of Indian Associations of ACT Inc. (FINACT), participated in this year’s National Multicultural Festival in Canberra, presenting a colourful showcase of India’s traditions, crafts, and multicultural spirit.

An information counter at the festival featured promotional material highlighting Jharkhand’s handicrafts, including sarees, kurtas, handbags, jewellery, and Kashmir willow bats, drawing interest from visitors eager to learn about India’s artisanal heritage. The display reflected the diversity of Indian states and cultures, reinforcing the message of unity within diversity.

The celebrations also included a lively parade, where participants dressed in traditional attire representing various regions of India marched together under the Indian flag. The procession captured the essence of multiculturalism, with music and energetic dhol beats adding to the festive atmosphere and bringing together community members and spectators.

Organisers acknowledged the contribution of volunteers and participants who helped make the event a vibrant and memorable experience for the wider community, emphasising the importance of such festivals in strengthening cultural connections across Australia’s diverse society.
