Perth, February 5 (Australia India News Newsdesk)

The Indian Society of Western Australia (ISWA) hosted the Leader of the Opposition in the WA Legislative Assembly along with several WA Liberal Party representatives at the Indian Community Centre, Perth, in a visit aimed at strengthening engagement with the Indian community and discussing future development initiatives.

During the visit, the delegation was given a guided tour of the Indian Community Centre, where ISWA representatives outlined the organisation’s ongoing work and its role in supporting cultural and community activities across Western Australia. Discussions focused on key community issues, collaboration opportunities, and the importance of continued dialogue between elected leaders and multicultural organisations.

ISWA also briefed visiting parliamentarians on proposed upgrade plans for the centre, highlighting future infrastructure goals and the need for ongoing stakeholder consultation. The meeting formed part of the organisation’s broader advocacy efforts with WA lawmakers, with an emphasis on strengthening partnerships and ensuring the voices of the Indian diaspora are represented in policy discussions.

Organisers described the engagement as a constructive step towards building stronger ties with government representatives while advancing the vision for an expanded and more inclusive community hub in Perth.
