A fight to control the municipal elections in New Delhi is happening today, with BJP, Congress and AAP engaged in a triangular fight.
There are around 13, 000, 000 plus voters in the fray, out of which around 7,000,000 are male voters and approximately 6, 000, 000 are female voters. More than 13, 000 polling stations will be utilised for these municipal elections, which will see around 2, 500 candidates trying their luck for the available 272 municipal seats.
Till 2 pm IST, only around 30% registered voters came out and cast their ballot, with all political parties hoping that more people come out to vote towards the later part of the day, when heat is a bit less.
