The Leader of the Opposition, the Hon Peter Dutton MP, recently concluded a highly productive visit to New Delhi, India.
The trip reinforced the Coalition’s commitment to fostering stronger ties between Australia and India.
During the visit, Mr Dutton engaged in a series of high-level meetings and discussions with Indian Government Ministers, business leaders, and key stakeholders to explore opportunities for enhanced partnerships, particularly in trade, investment, and the potential for collaboration across various sectors.
Accompanied by Indian business leaders from Australia, Mr Dutton visited the iconic Swaminarayan Akshardham in New Delhi, a spiritual and cultural complex. The visit underscored the importance of cultural exchange and appreciation for India’s rich heritage.
Mr Dutton paid respects at Gurdwara Sri Bangla Sahib, one of the most prominent Sikh gurdwaras in Delhi, emphasising the Coalition’s commitment to religious diversity and unity.
Addressing faculty and students of The Centre for India-Australia Studies of O.P. Jindal Global
University’, Mr Dutton gave a public lecture on the theme of ‘India-Australia Relations’.
Launching the India Vision Institute (IVI) campaign, ‘Eye See & I Learn’, Mr Dutton attended the Nava Hind Government Girls Senior Secondary School at Karol Bagh and distributed free spectacles to the children.
Mr Dutton’s visit to India highlights the Coalition’s commitment to nurturing friendship and
cooperation with India, laying the groundwork for an enduring and mutually beneficial relationship for both nations.
During the visit, Mr Dutton was accompanied by the Hon Jason Wood MP, Shadow Minister for Multicultural Affairs.
