The Consul General of India in Perth, Kajari Biswas, met Anupam Sharma, Founder and Festival Director of the National Indian Film Festival of Australia (NIFFA), to discuss opportunities to further promote Indian cinema, culture and creative collaborations across Western Australia.
The meeting focused on exploring avenues for greater cultural engagement through Indian cinema and strengthening creative collaborations in the state.
The Consulate General of India in Perth has collaborated with NIFFA to organise film festivals across Western Australia and the Northern Territory, helping bring Indian cinema and culture to audiences in the region.
The Consulate said it looks forward to welcoming NIFFA back to Perth next year and continuing the valued cultural partnership. The collaboration reflects the role of cinema and cultural initiatives in fostering closer people-to-people connections between India and Australia.
