Queensland Day
Celebrate what makes you a proud Queenslander.
Each year, Queensland Day is held on 6 June to commemorate Queensland’s birthday.
It’s a day to show your maroon spirit, and celebrate our culture, heritage, people, places and industry.
Queensland councils, schools, businesses, community organisations, sporting teams, families and individuals are encouraged to get involved and be part of the statewide celebrations.
You can:
light or decorate buildings, monuments, landmarks, workplaces, shopfronts, houses and gardens maroon on Tuesday 6 June 2017.
- host an event in the community, workplace or at home on, or around Queensland Day and register to feature on the online Queensland Day calendar to go in the draw to win great prizes.
- download the resources and templates available online, and in the Queensland Day toolkits packed with Queensland-themed games, quizzes, novelty decorations and photo props.
