Melbourne, June 13 (Australia India News Newsdesk)

The Australia India Institute recently welcomed Dr Roja Suganthy-Singh to its Melbourne office for a dialogue with members of its education team. The discussion focused on equity in education and the empowerment of marginalised voices in India.

Dr Suganthy-Singh, co-founder of the Dalit Solidarity Forum in the USA, has been active in social justice and literary mentorship since 1999. Her work involves mentoring aspiring writers and scholars from underrepresented communities in India.

Her acclaimed book, Spotted Goddesses: Dalit Women’s Agency—Narratives on Caste and Gender Violence, is used in academic and activist settings across India, the US, and the UK.

The Institute noted the visit as a meaningful step in strengthening global collaborations that address caste, gender, and education.
