A man has been flown to Townsville hospital with serious head injuries this morning after the vehicle he was travelling in rolled near Malanda.
The 24-year-old male driver escaped the crash with a broken ankle but the passenger, also 24, suffered serious injuries and was trapped in the wreckage.
It is believed the driver lost control of the vehicle and it struck an embankment.
The incident happened on Lake Barrine Rd about 6am.
Forensic Crash Unit officers are still investigating.
