Melbourne, May 21 (Australia India News Newsdesk)

The Institute of Health and Nursing Australia recently celebrated International Nurses Day in Melbourne, recognising the vital role of nurses in shaping strong, resilient healthcare systems.

The event was attended by Consul General of India, Dr. Sushil Kumar, who paid tribute to the unwavering commitment and compassion of nurses—particularly highlighting the contributions of the Indian nursing community in Australia.

In his address, Dr. Kumar acknowledged the impact of Indian-origin nurses in promoting community well-being and strengthening Australia’s healthcare landscape. He praised their professionalism, empathy, and the critical support they provide in times of need.

The celebration served not only as a moment to honour the nursing profession but also to highlight the deepening ties between India and Australia in the field of health, education, and workforce development.

The event brought together healthcare professionals, educators, and community leaders, reinforcing the value of culturally diverse healthcare workers in building a healthier and more inclusive Australia.
