Culture took centre stage during India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Melbourne as the Australian-India Orchestra performed ‘Maa Tujhe Salaam’, highlighting the growing people-to-people links that continue to strengthen the Australia-India partnership, according to India’s Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).
According to India’s PMO, Prime Minister Modi praised the orchestra’s performance, saying it reflected the warmth and friendship shared by the people of Australia and India. The PMO said the musical tribute also marked the 150th anniversary of ‘Vande Mataram’, celebrating a composition that continues to hold deep cultural and historical significance for Indians around the world.
