Australia and India have discussed strengthening cooperation in cybersecurity, critical technologies and supply-chain resilience, with officials exploring ways to advance their bilateral technology partnership.
India’s Ministry of External Affairs Joint Secretary (Cyber Diplomacy) Amit Shukla met Jessica Hunter, Australia’s Ambassador for Cyber Affairs and Critical Technology, during his visit to Australia, according to the High Commission of India in Canberra.
The High Commission said the meeting covered the continuing Australia–India partnership in cyber and critical technologies, with both sides exchanging ideas on implementing the Australia–India Partnership on Cyber, Critical Technologies and Supply Chains (PACTS).
The PACTS framework was launched in July 2026 during the Australia–India Annual Summit in Melbourne and provides a broader framework for cooperation on cybersecurity, critical technologies and resilient supply chains, according to The Australia Today.
During his visit, Shukla also participated in a panel on AI adoption across the Indo-Pacific at the TSD Artificial Intelligence Masterclass 2026, organised by the Australian Strategic Policy Institute (ASPI) in Canberra.
The discussions highlight the growing importance of cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, critical technologies and secure supply chains within the broader Australia–India strategic partnership.
