For the first time, the International Day of Yoga was recently celebrated in Albany, Western Australia, through a collaborative initiative between the Consulate General of India in Perth and the Southern Aboriginal Corporation.
The event marked a significant moment in bringing together diverse communities to embrace the universal values of yoga, including health, balance, and inner peace. Participants took part in guided sessions that highlighted yoga’s relevance as a holistic practice for physical and mental well-being.
This first-ever celebration in Albany not only promoted wellness but also served as a step towards strengthening cross-cultural ties between the Indian and Aboriginal communities, reflecting a shared commitment to unity, inclusivity, and mutual understanding.
