Policymakers, diplomats and strategic experts from India and Australia gathered in Sydney for the Australia-India 1.5 Strategic Dialogue to discuss the next phase of bilateral cooperation across key sectors.
The dialogue, organised by the Ananta Centre and Asia Society with support from India’s Ministry of External Affairs and Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, focused on strengthening engagement in trade and investment, critical technologies, defence industry cooperation, clean energy and digital infrastructure.
Discussions also highlighted the growing importance of resilient supply chains and enhanced economic collaboration as both countries seek to deepen their strategic partnership in the Indo-Pacific region.
India’s High Commissioner to Australia Nagesh Singh participated in a panel discussion alongside Australia’s Assistant Minister and Australia’s High Commissioner to India Philip Green OAM.
Participants emphasised the need to transform strategic discussions into practical outcomes and expand cooperation across economic, technological and security sectors.
Officials said the dialogue reflected the growing convergence between India and Australia on regional priorities and long-term strategic interests.
