Brisbane (Australia India News Newsdesk): The Federation of Indian Communities of Queensland (FICQ) has announced that its annual FICQ Diwali 2026 celebrations will be held on November 6, at King George Square in Brisbane’s CBD.

Described as one of Queensland’s largest and most vibrant Diwali festivals, the event will run from 11:00 am to 10:00 pm, bringing together the wider community to celebrate the Festival of Lights through culture, entertainment and cuisine.

The celebrations will feature cultural performances, live entertainment, authentic Indian food, market stalls and a range of family-friendly activities. Organisers said the festival aims to showcase the spirit of unity, diversity and community while highlighting India’s rich cultural heritage.

FICQ has invited families, friends and members of the wider community to save the date and participate in the day-long festivities. The organisation said further announcements, including performer registrations, stall opportunities and additional event updates, will be released in the coming months.

The annual Diwali celebration has become a major multicultural event on Queensland’s calendar, attracting thousands of visitors and promoting cultural exchange and community engagement across the state.
