The Consulate General of India in Sydney organised a business interaction between a visiting delegation of Indian jewellery manufacturers and exporters and Australian gems and jewellery companies on August 21.
The delegation, led by the Gems and Jewellery Export Promotion Council of India (GJEPC), used the session to explore business opportunities and strengthen commercial engagement between Indian and Australian industry players.
Acting Consul General of India Nirav Sutariya delivered the welcome address, followed by an industry address by Vijay Mangukiya, head of the GJEPC delegation. Sridhar Iyengar, Director, International Events, GJEPC, also made a presentation on the Indian gems and jewellery sector.
The programme featured introductions between members of the delegation and Australian companies, followed by one-to-one business meetings and networking. The visiting companies also held meetings with established jewellery businesses in Sydney, including ABC Bullion, ahead of the International Jewellery Fair at the International Convention Centre Sydney.
The interaction provided a platform for Indian jewellery manufacturers and exporters to connect with Australian businesses and explore avenues for expanding bilateral trade in the sector.
