Brisbane, July 9 (Australia India News Newsdesk)

The Queensland Tourism Industry Council (QTIC) hosted its NAIDOC corporate breakfast on July 9 at the Sofitel Brisbane, bringing together over 500 delegates from business, government, and community sectors.

Held as part of NAIDOC Week events, the breakfast centred on honouring First Nations voices, leadership, and culture, fostering dialogue through ceremony and corporate engagement.

A key feature of the event was the introduction of QTIC’s draft Queensland First Nations Tourism Plan 2026–2032. The plan proposes actions to strengthen First Nations participation in the tourism sector, support Indigenous businesses, and promote cultural tourism opportunities.

The event highlighted ongoing collaboration between the tourism industry and First Nations communities, reflecting efforts to integrate Indigenous perspectives into Queensland’s tourism strategies and partnerships.

The NAIDOC corporate breakfast forms part of QTIC’s commitment to inclusive tourism that values First Nations contributions to the state’s culture and economy.
