Brisbane, May 23 (Australia India News Newsdesk)

Acclaimed Bharatanatyam dancer and Padma Bhushan awardee Dr. Shobana Chandrakumar captivated audiences in Brisbane with an extraordinary performance that celebrated the richness of Indian classical art and culture.

The cultural evening drew members of the Indian community, art lovers and cultural enthusiasts, who praised the performance for its artistic brilliance, graceful choreography and emotional depth.

Attendees described the programme as a memorable experience that highlighted the universal language of art and its power to connect people beyond cultural and linguistic boundaries. Dr. Shobana’s performance was widely appreciated for showcasing the elegance and spiritual essence of Bharatanatyam while inspiring audiences through her mastery of classical dance.

The event was organised by BHAV Brisbane with support from community leaders and volunteers. Special acknowledgement was given to organizers, including Rajiv, Sharada Nair and the entire organising team for hosting the successful programme and promoting Indian cultural heritage in Queensland.

Community members said such events play an important role in strengthening cultural connections within the Indian diaspora and introducing younger generations to India’s rich artistic traditions.

The evening also reflected the growing appreciation for Indian classical arts in Australia and reinforced the role of cultural programmes in fostering unity, creativity and multicultural engagement.
