Brisbane, May 27 (Australia India News Newsdesk)

The Tamil Association of Queensland (TAQ) celebrated its 40-year journey with a special felicitation ceremony honouring former presidents whose leadership and dedication helped build and strengthen one of Queensland’s prominent Tamil community organisations.

The milestone celebration brought together community leaders, members, volunteers and supporters to reflect on four decades of cultural service, unity and community engagement.

During the event, TAQ paid tribute to past presidents who played a key role in laying the foundation of the organisation and guiding its growth over the years. Speakers acknowledged their vision, commitment and service in shaping a strong and vibrant Tamil community that continues to thrive across generations.

Organisers described the occasion as both emotional and inspiring, highlighting the contribution of former leaders in preserving Tamil language, culture and traditions while fostering community spirit and inclusiveness in multicultural Queensland.

Community members also expressed appreciation to volunteers, supporters and families who have contributed to the organisation’s success throughout its 40-year journey. The celebration emphasised not only the achievements of the past but also the responsibility of carrying forward the association’s legacy for future generations.

The anniversary event featured moments of recognition, cultural celebrations and community interactions, with organisers promising more commemorative activities as part of TAQ’s ongoing 40th year celebrations.
